Event Overview
The Candy Cane Course is a holiday-themed running event taking place at Holmes Lake Park in Lincoln, Nebraska. This Christmas-themed race offers multiple distances to accommodate a variety of participants, including those who wish to run in person or participate remotely through a virtual option.
Course and Distances
The event features several organized distances on the pavement:
- 15K (6.2 Miles or 9.3 Miles as specified in the 15K category)
- 10K (6.2 Miles)
- 5K (3.1 Miles)
- 1 Mile (Untimed)
- Kids Dash (50m, untimed, for ages 10 and under)
The 5K, 10K, and 15K events are chip-timed with live results and awards provided to finishers. The 1 Mile and Kids Dash are untimed recreational options. Participants in the 5k, 10k, and 12k distances who are 12 years of age or younger are eligible for youth-based pricing. Participants may also choose a "Volunteer then Run" option, assisting with event operations before participating in their selected distance.
Participant Amenities
Registered participants receive a designer shirt, a custom bib, and a finisher medal. To guarantee a shirt size, registration must be completed by midnight on the Thursday two weeks prior to the event date. The event provides free photos to participants and offers treats at the finish line.
The event is held at Holmes Lake Park, located at 70th and Normal. Please note that a $10 parking fee is required to enter the park grounds unless the vehicle has a valid RSU Annual Pass. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
