Grasmere Wild Trail Runs 2027
The Grasmere Wild Trail Runs take place in the Lake District over the weekend of 20 and 21 March 2027 at The Showfield, Stock Lane, Grasmere, Cumbria LA22 9SL. Saturday hosts the trail runs and Sunday features sprint and standard duathlons.
Distances offered include:
- Half Marathon
- 10km
- 5km
Route maps are available to view and download. The new Half Marathon route passes through Grasmere Village, around Grasmere Water and Rydal Water, goes past Rydal Caves, skirts Loughrigg Fell to Ambleside Park and returns to Rydal Water. The 10km route also runs via Grasmere Village, Grasmere Water and Rydal Water and includes Rydal Caves. The 5km route follows a shorter lap of Grasmere Water.
The event is canicross friendly: one controlled dog per runner is allowed and dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a drink and snack. An exclusive event T-shirt is available to purchase for £12. Limited on-site parking is available for £4; some competitors may need to use nearby public parking if the ground is wet or the car park is full.
