Grasmere Wild Trail Runs 2026

The Grasmere Wild Trail Runs take place in the Lake District, centered around the village of Grasmere. The event is hosted at The Showfield on Stock Lane and is part of a two-day sports weekend, with trail running scheduled for the Saturday. The village is situated alongside Grasmere Lake and is surrounded by a panorama of fells and mountains.

Participants can choose from two distinct distances:

  • 5 km - A scenic lap of Grasmere Water.
  • 10 km - A route covering Grasmere Village, Grasmere Water, Rydal Water, and Rydal Caves at its peak.

The event is canicross friendly, allowing one controlled dog per runner. All participants are timed using live chip timing technology. Finishers receive an event medal, merchandise, and a selection of drinks and snacks. An event t-shirt is also available for purchase.

The race is open to a range of ages, with the 5 km available to those aged 11 and over, while the 10 km is open to entrants aged 15 and over. Facilities at the site include limited on-site parking for a fee, though attendees may need to use nearby public parking depending on ground conditions and capacity. On the following day, the venue also hosts multisport duathlon events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
