Grasmere Wild Trail Runs returns in March 2027 with a new half marathon plus 10km and 5km routes around Grasmere and Rydal. The event is canicross friendly, uses live chip timing and provides medals, merchandise and post-race refreshments.

Grasmere Wild Trail Runs 2027

The annual Grasmere trail event returns to the Lake District in March 2027. Trail races take place on Saturday 20 March and Sprint and Standard Duathlons are scheduled for Sunday 21 March. The event base is The Showfield, Stock Lane, Grasmere, Cumbria, LA22 9SL.

Half Marathon new route via Grasmere Village, Rydal Water, Loughrigg to Ambleside Park
10km route includes Grasmere Village, Grasmere Water, Rydal Water and Rydal Caves
5km scenic lap of Grasmere Water suitable for beginners

The half marathon route passes Rydal Caves and skirts Loughrigg Fell. Routes are available to view and download free of charge. The event is canicross friendly; one controlled dog per runner is allowed and dogs must be on a short lead at all times. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North.

All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, a drink and a snack. An exclusive event T shirt is available to purchase for £12. Limited on-site parking is offered for £4; additional public parking may be needed if the ground is wet or the car park is full. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
