Grasmere Wild Trail Runs 2027
This event is the Wild Deer Events trail weekend in the Lake District, returning in March 2027. Trail runs take place on Saturday 20 March, with Sprint and Standard duathlons scheduled for Sunday 21 March. The venue is Grasmere Lakeland Sports & Show, Stock Lane, Grasmere, Ambleside LA22 9SJ.
Route options include:
- Half Marathon (new): route via Grasmere, Rydal Water, Rydal Caves, Loughrigg Fell, Ambleside Park
- 10km: route includes Grasmere Village, Grasmere Water, Rydal Water, passes Rydal Caves
- 5km: scenic lap of Grasmere Water; described as suitable for beginners
Route maps are available to view and download. The event is canicross friendly; one controlled dog per runner is allowed and dogs must be on a short lead at all times. Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North.
All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a drink and snack. An exclusive event T-shirt is available to purchase for £14. Entry prices range from £24 to £32 depending on distance. Limited on site parking is available for a £4 fee; additional public parking may be required if the ground is wet or the car park is full.
