Grasmere Wild Trail Runs 2027
Grasmere Wild Trail Runs returns to the Lake District in March 2027 with trail races on Saturday 20 March and duathlons on Sunday 21 March. The event base is the Showfield at Stock Lane, Grasmere, Ambleside LA22 9SJ.
Race options include:
- Half Marathon (new route includes Grasmere Village, Grasmere Water, Rydal Water, Rydal Caves, Loughrigg Fell)
- 10km (route includes Grasmere Village, Grasmere Water, Rydal Water)
- 5km (scenic lap of Grasmere Water suitable for beginners)
The half marathon route passes Rydal Caves and skirts Loughrigg Fell before reaching Ambleside Park and returning to Rydal Water. The 10km and 5km routes also use sections around Grasmere Water and Rydal Water. Routes are available to view and download.
The event is canicross friendly. One controlled dog per runner is allowed and dogs must be on a short lead at all times. There will be a separate start for canicross runners.
Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. Limited on-site parking is available for a fee of £4 and organisers note that some competitors may need to use nearby public parking if the ground is wet or the car park becomes full. All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a drink and snack. An exclusive event T shirt is available to purchase for £12.
