Local Event Series
Grand Valley Brew Runs is a collection of holiday-themed running events taking place at various breweries in Grand Junction and Fruita, Colorado. This series combines physical activity with social gatherings, featuring courses that utilize the riverfront trail and high desert scenery. Each event is designed as a social fun run or walk, open to participants of various experience levels.
The series includes various themed events:
- Oktoberfest 5k fun run
- Mustache 5k fun run
- Ugly Sweater 5k fun run
- Saint Patty's Day 5k
Participants receive a craft brew, hot chocolate, or cider upon completion, along with a custom pint glass or water bottle. Each gathering supports different charitable organizations, including Movember, Girls on the Run, and The Gift of Love.
Post-run activities are held at partner locations like Handlebar Taphouse and Copper Club. These celebrations include music, food, and "Beer Olympics" games, which consist of fitness-based competitions and gym-inspired challenges. Several events also feature costume contests, such as the best mustache competition or the ugly sweater contest. Children aged 12 and under can participate in the runs at no cost.
