About the race
The 14th Annual Spirit of the Valley Run, Walk 'n Roll takes place on September 12, 2026, in Grand Junction. The event is based at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church at the corner of 27 ½ Rd. and Cortland Ave.; the course starts and ends at the church and the day concludes with live rock and roll music.

Registration details and fees are set for each event. Registration opens on September 14, 2025. Registration for the 5K closes January 1, 2026; registration for the 1K closes August 29, 2026. Entry fees are non‑refundable. The listed fees are $25.00 for the 5K events and $10.00 for the 1K events.
A sack brunch will be served to participants and volunteers. Additional meal tickets are available at the door for $7. Vetted and trained childcare is offered at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church on a donation basis. The event also accepts sponsorships.
Proceeds benefit two local organizations. The VA Recreational Therapy Program is not tax funded and relies on donations to introduce local disabled veterans to community recreation such as fishing, kayaking, and biking; funds are used for items like swimming lessons, bike equipment, or fishing outings. Hilltop’s Latimer House provides services for people who have experienced domestic violence or sexual assault across Western Colorado, including emergency safe houses, advocacy, and 24 hour crisis lines.
