Spirit of the Valley 5k
The 14th Annual Spirit of the Valley Run, Walk N Roll is scheduled for September 12, 2026 in Grand Junction, Colorado. The event begins and ends at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church at the corner of 27 ½ Rd. and Cortland Ave., and benefits two local organizations: the VA Recreational Therapy Program on the Western Slope and Hilltop's Latimer House.
The program for participants includes live rock n roll music after the course and a sack brunch served to all participants and volunteers. Additional meal tickets are available at the door for $7. Vetted and trained childcare is provided at St. Matthew's on a donation basis. Sponsorship is accepted as an alternative form of participation.
Registration opens in September 2025 for the listed events; closing dates vary by event. Entry fees are non refundable. Early registrants are guaranteed a t shirt while supplies last.

The VA Recreational Therapy Program relies on donations to fund local recreational activities for disabled veterans. Latimer House provides emergency safe houses, advocacy, and 24 hour crisis lines and serves Western Colorado counties including Mesa, Montrose, Delta, and Ouray.
