Grand Targhee Wildflower Run
The Wildflower Run is a two day trail event at Grand Targhee in Alta, Wyoming, held July 4–5, 2026. The event offers four race distances: 50K, 22K, 10K, and a 1K kids race for ages 6 to 12. Each race is capped at 200 participants and there is no day of registration.
Courses run on mountain trails and ridgelines, with marked directions, red pin flags and signage at critical junctions. Aid stations are placed along each course and vary by distance; full aid stations are staffed by Mountain Safety Patrol and include water, branded nutrition items, salty and sweet snacks, sunscreen and at least one course marshal. The event is cupless and provides a Hydrapak SpeedCup; runners must bring a personal receptacle for drinking and receiving food.
The 50K allows drop bags at the Peaked Summit aid station; drop bags are handled from the base area and returned to the base area after the race. Restrooms are available at the base lodge and at a midcourse location on the 50K; there are no on course restrooms for the 10K and 22K. Crewing is not permitted, while spectators may access suggested viewing locations on course maps.
All finishers receive a unique finisher award and a race hat. Awards are given to top three in each category and cash prizes are offered to top overall finishers in the 50K. Post race massage and physical therapy evaluations are available at a set rate.
