Wildflower Run
The Wildflower Run is a two-day trail running event at Grand Targhee held July 4 to 5, 2026. It is the event's fourth year and offers multiple race distances on mountain trails and ridgelines with views, aspen glades, and wildflower fields.
Distances:
- 50K trail race (31.1 miles)
- 22K trail race (13.4 miles)
- 10K trail race (6.3 miles)
- 1K Kids' Race (0.62 miles, ages 6 to 12 only)
Each race is capped at 200 participants and there is no day-of registration. All races have marked courses; runners must follow trail markings and not cut switchbacks. The event is cupless; runners should bring a reusable cup. Organizers will provide a Hydrapak SpeedCup to participants.
Aid stations for the 10K, 22K and 50K are noted on course maps and are stocked with water, Naak products, snacks, Tanri sunscreen and at least one course marshal. Full aid stations are staffed with Mountain Safety Patrol; some stations provide water only. The 1K Kids' Race has no aid stations and finishers receive an ice cream cone from Snorkels.
Additional details include allowed 50K drop bags at Peaked Summit (drop-off before the race on the Trap Bar lawn), a cut-off at the top of the Dreamcatcher lift roughly 13.8 miles into the 50K, no crewing allowed, and a rule that dogs are not permitted on the course and must be leashed at the start and finish.
