Grand Teton Half Marathon
The event offers two race distances in the Jackson Hole area of Wyoming: a half marathon and a trail 5K. The half marathon is a point to point course that starts near Stilson Lot in Wilson and finishes near the National Elk Refuge on the north side of Jackson. The route follows Teton Pass Highway, passes 3rd Street and Main Street, uses a paved jogging trail, crosses Moose Wilson Road and the Snake River pedestrian bridge, then continues onto Spring Gulch Road for the final miles. The course is largely flat with a gentle, gradual climb in the later miles. The half marathon includes five aid stations and a course limit of 4.5 hours.
The 5K is a trail course at Teton Village that starts and finishes near the tram entrance. It begins with a climb of about 460 feet in the first mile and then follows mostly downhill trails and access roads back to the finish. The 5K has one aid station and notes that no cups will be provided on course.
Expo and bib pickup occur the Friday before the race and bib shipment is available for an additional fee. Spectator access to the finish is shuttle only; parking at the finish or along Spring Gulch Road is not allowed. Place medals are awarded to top finishers and finisher medals are given to everyone who completes their race. The event operates a zero waste policy and encourages reusable hydration options.
