The Cirque Series race at Grand Targhee, WY is scheduled for August 29, 2026 at Grand Targhee Resort (3300 Ski Hill Rd, Grand Targhee, WY 83414). Course and safety
The race starts at the base of Grand Targhee (elevation 7,860 ft) near the Dreamcatcher chair and Trap Bar patio. The route climbs via a service road (Teton Vista Traverse) and several singletrack trails, passing aid stations near the base of Mary’s Ridge (about mile 2.2) and near mile 3.8. Runners reach summits at Mary’s Nipple (9,920 ft) and Peaked Mountain (9,830 ft) before descending to the finish in the vendor village at Trap Bar plaza. The course description notes steep, technical sections with boulders, rock ridges and potential snow. The route is marked with orange flagging; runners are instructed to stay on marked trails. A strict cutoff of 50 minutes applies at the base of Mary’s ascent (about 1.9 miles). Hydration is provided at aid stations and the finish.
Logistics and prizes
Timing uses a disposable chip on the back of the bib. Results are posted 48 hours after the event. Per-race prizes include cash for Pro places (1st $1,000; 2nd $250; 3rd $150) and gear awards for Expert and Sport places.
