Event overview
The Goring 10K is a 10K road race held in the countryside around Goring, Oxfordshire. The event is organised as a fundraiser for the local primary school. Chip-timing is used for individual times, but official results and age-category prizes are based on gun time. Entry is open to runners aged 15 and over. Entry fees are listed in the range of £26 to £28.
Course and facilities
The course uses mostly closed roads with a short off-road section of a few hundred metres. The first 1.0 km is a steady incline into the countryside and the final kilometres retrace the descent. There is a single water station approximately at the halfway point in South Stoke and an additional station at the finish. Toilets are available at Storton Lodge, the primary school and the main village car park.
Baggage may be left at Storton Lodge beside the race start; items are left at the owner’s risk. First aid will be provided on course and on site by a named provider. All finishers receive an eco medal and a flapjack. Prize categories include male and female trophies for age bands 15-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+. Non-binary entrants are noted, but prizes are awarded under the recognised male and female categories in line with UK Athletics guidance. Runners must complete the course within 90 minutes.
