Mortimer 10km
The Mortimer 10km is a two-lap trail race based in the Berkshire village of Mortimer with start and finish on Mortimer Fairground. The event uses local footpaths and bridleways through woodland, combining off-road surfaces and short stretches of local paths. The route is undulating and uneven in places, and therefore not suitable for pushchairs, buggies or wheelchairs.
There is a canicross entry option for those wishing to run the 10 km with a dog, with a separate canicross start. The minimum age for the 10 km event is 16. Facilities and services mentioned for the event include chip timing, medals, prizes, free downloadable race photos, ample toilets and onsite car parking. Massage is available for a fee and local food and drink vendors attend.
The event has supported fundraising for the Ollie Young Foundation. Organisers provide race instructions and start time information to entrants by email and online in advance. The course description notes approximately 85 percent off road, about 85 m of elevation gain, no water stations and a time limit of 1 hour 45 minutes.
