Event overview
Gopher Attack is scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2026, presented by Sask Lotteries. The event is an early spring Boston Qualifier marathon. The marathon course runs through Wascana Park and the University of Regina campus and is a 21.1 km loop certified by Athletics Canada. Participants who meet Boston Marathon qualifying times will be eligible to enter the Boston Marathon the following year. The event is a fundraiser for the MS Society of Canada and is hosted by the Marathon Matters Running Club.
Distances, entries and logistics
The 2025 edition offered multiple distances:
- Marathon
- Half-marathon
- 10 km
- 5 km
A virtual event option is available with five distances; virtual registration covers all five distances and included a special 19 km distance for 2025. Virtual runners have from April 27 to May 31 to complete their distances. Finishers receive a unique medal; in-person participants also receive a swag item and a discount voucher from Track & Trail. Virtual participants receive a medal and the Track & Trail discount by mail. Race packet pickup is at the Queen Building, 100 Navy Way, Wascana Park: Saturday 1:00–5:30 and Sunday 7:00 (virtual packets are mailed). Marathon Matters club members receive a discount of $10 plus the Race Roster fee; a membership purchase option was noted during registration.
