The 2026 Royal Road Race returns to celebrate Mother's Day weekend in Regina. Run on the unique grounds of the RCMP Training Academy in events ranging from 1 km to 10 km. The race includes a brunch buffet, finisher medals, and a guaranteed $4000 prize purse.

Royal Road Race 2026

The 2026 Royal Road Race takes place on May 9 at the RCMP Heritage Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan. The event features several distances.

  • Mini Mountie (1 km) – for runners aged 10 and under.
  • 3K Family Run (3 km) – a new family event.
  • 5 km – includes a walk and wheelchair division. This edition also hosts the 2026 Saskatchewan Provincial 5km Road Championships.
  • 10 km

The starts are staggered beginning at 9:00 a.m. The course runs through the grounds of the RCMP Training Academy. The maximum number of participants is 700.

Race Environment Course marshals are present. The use of headphones is not permitted for safety reasons. Strollers, bicycles, skateboards, and pets are not allowed on the course. A brunch buffet is served after the race in the Drill Hall.

Inclusions Registration for the 5 km and 10 km events includes a brunch buffet, a pair of Hillberg & Berk earrings, and a finisher's medal. Registration for the 3K Family Run and Mini Mountie includes the buffet and a medal.

Prizes and Awards A guaranteed total prize purse of $4000 is awarded to the top male and female finishers in the Open and Masters categories for the 5 km and 10 km distances. Mothers placing in the top three of the 5 km and 10 km runs receive flowers and earrings. Participants in the Saskatchewan Provincial 5km Road Championships can earn special medals in their age groups.

Logistics Bib pickup is on May 7 and 8 at the Atlas Hotel. There is no pickup on race day. Parking is via the RCMP Heritage Centre entrance off Dewdney Avenue. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
