Goose Fair Gallop 10k
The Goose Fair Gallop is an annual 10 km event organised by Kimberley & District Striders, scheduled for 11 October 2026. The race was first held in 1987 and is run from the Bennerley Viaduct Visitors Centre in Awsworth.
The course is described as pretty flat and is planned to be as close to 10 km as possible, though the distance is not exact and results will not appear on ranking sites such as Run Britain. Underfoot conditions vary and include canal paths, gravel paths, unkept trails, and smooth pavement. The route uses a visitors centre ramp and offers views from the viaduct on clear days.
Entries are limited to 350 participants; the event is not open to on-the-day entry and participants must be over 18 and in good physical health. Chip timing is used and the race holds permit number ARC/26/0371. The event has sold out in recent years and operates a waiting list when full.
Finishers receive a custom technical t-shirt and a medal. Entries are non-refundable and non-deferrable, but transfers are permitted online via Entry Central until 12 September 2026. Participants must register an Entry Central account to provide EA affiliation details and enable transfers. Parking is provided at Birnam Park NG16 2DE and there is no parking at the visitors centre. A headphone policy requires bone conductor styles so runners can hear marshals, and playing music aloud from devices is not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
