Good Neighbor Days Run
The Good Neighbor Days event is an annual community athletic gathering hosted by the Washington Park District in Washington, Illinois. The event takes place at Five Points Washington and features multiple running and walking options held regardless of weather conditions. The primary route is a fast-course 5K, complemented by additional distances to accommodate a variety of participants.
Participants can choose from the following distances and categories:
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
- 50 Meters (Kids 5 and under)
- 1/4 Mile (Kids ages 6 and 7)
- 1/2 Mile (Kids ages 8 to 10)
The youth events are untimed and designed for younger participants, with parents permitted to accompany children in the 50-meter category. All finishers in the 5K and 1 Mile categories are provided with a post-race pancake breakfast. Professional timing and scoring services are provided for the competitive segments of the day.
The event includes an awards ceremony for the 5K distance, recognizing the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the top two finishers in several age groups ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over. The 1 Mile event also presents awards to the top three overall male and female participants.
