Good Grief 5K Run & Walk
The event is built around the belief that movement and community can be healing. Participants gather to honor their stories, feel connection, and support one another.
The in-person event starts and finishes at Veterans Memorial Park in South Burlington, Vermont. After the event, there is free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, live music, and kid-friendly activities. It is described as a family-friendly event. The event benefits Empty Arms Vermont, an organization that provides peer support for pregnancy and infant loss.
The event offers multiple distances:
- 5K Run & Walk: Open to both competitive runners and casual walkers. The course is a loop that follows the South Burlington bike path and is pet and stroller friendly. It has a combination of flat sections and hills.
- 2K Walk: A shorter course open to walkers only. It is also stroller and child-friendly.
- Virtual 5K: Participants can chart their own course and join in solidarity from anywhere.
Kids aged 10 and under can participate for free. There is free parking at Veterans Memorial Park, with overflow parking available at Faith United Methodist Church. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
