GMAA Turkey Trot 5K - Burlington, VT
The event is a community 5K held at UVM Gutterson Fieldhouse, using the UVM women's cross-country course. The course is a 5K loop with cinder and paved paths, grass sections, and some single-track. Footing is described as good except in snow or ice. No pets, strollers, bicycles, or headphones are allowed on the course; GMAA rules prohibit running with a baby jogger or dog. Walkers are welcome, and slower participants are asked to line up toward the back for safety at the crowded start.
Registration is available online until race morning and race day registration is offered at Gutterson Field House. The event will be held in rain, snow, or shine. Entry is by suggested donation of $5 per person or $10 per family, and food donations are accepted; all net proceeds go to Feeding Chittenden.
A free kids race of a quarter mile takes place at the Archie Post fields prior to the 5K. Timing is done with a large race clock but only the top ten finishing times are recorded. Raffle prizes are awarded after the race; participants and volunteers are eligible. Anyone entering Gutterson must meet vaccination or testing and masking requirements. There are no refunds, deferrals, or transfers.
