GMAA Turkey Trot 5K
The GMAA Turkey Trot 5K takes place on Thursday, November 26, 2026, in Burlington, Vermont. The main event is a 5K run. There is also a free 1/4-mile kids' race held just before the 5K. The event benefits Feeding Chittenden.
Course and rules
The 5K is a loop on the UVM women's cross-country course with cinder and paved path, grass sections, and some single track. No pets, strollers, or bicycles are allowed on the course. Walkers are welcome; walkers and slower runners are asked to line up toward the back for safety at the crowded start. The organizers strongly discourage the use of headphones. GMAA/insurance rules prohibit running with a baby jogger or dog.
Registration, fees and timing
Online registration is available until race morning and race-day registration is offered at the UVM Gutterson Field House. The suggested donation is $5 per person or $10 per family, or a food donation; all proceeds go to Feeding Chittenden. The race is held rain, snow, or shine. Timing is by a large race clock, with only the top ten finishing times recorded. Raffle prizes are awarded after the race. There are no refunds, deferrals, or transfers. Anyone entering the field house must meet the stated COVID-19 vaccination or testing and masking requirements. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
