Golden Gate Headlands Marathon, Half Marathon & 10K : April 3, 2027
The event is held at the Marin Headlands Visitor Center, Fort Barry, in Mill Valley, California. It is the 42nd annual running of this race and is limited to 400 participants.
The courses start and finish at the Historic Gunnery Range in Rodeo Valley and run on a mix of single track hiking trails and fire roads. Runners will pass viewpoints with vistas of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay to the east, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The half marathon loop is used twice by marathon participants; marathoners must check in at the finish before beginning the second loop. The course is marked with orange ribbon.

Aid stations are arranged as follows: no aid stations on the 10K course, one aid station on the half marathon at mile 6, and aid stations for marathoners at miles 6, 13, and 19. Participants are advised to carry water. There will be food and drink at the finish area.
Other event details include athlete check-in at the start/finish field across from the Marin Headlands Visitor Center; bibs are mailed and safety pins and course maps are available at check-in. Parking is on Smith Road toward Rodeo Beach with attendants directing vehicles; allow extra time to reach check-in from parking. Headphones and personal audio devices are not allowed on course. Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable; a refund protection option is offered at checkout and limited rollover credit policies apply.
