20th Annual Golden Gallop
The 20th Annual Golden Gallop takes place on September 20, 2026, with start and finish at Golden High School in Golden, Colorado. The event includes road race options, a kids run, a virtual-friendly challenge, and a Sleep In option that provides an event shirt without attending race day.
Distances offered:
- 5K : 3.1 Miles
- 10K : 6.2 Miles
- 20K Challenge : 12.4 Miles (only 10K completed on race day)
Event formats and rules include a Kids Fun Run for children 10 and under; the kids run begins after 5K and 10K awards are completed, and dogs are not permitted in the kids run. Well-behaved dogs are allowed in the 5K and 10K when registered as an add-on; registered dogs receive a bandana in the race packet. Runners with dogs or strollers must start at the back of the field.
The 20K Challenge requires completion of the 10K on race day and the remaining 10K to be completed virtually before race day; only the race day 10K time is recorded for results. Packet pick up is available at Golden High School on the day before the event and on race day at the venue.
Entry fees by event are published for each race. Cash prizes and age group awards are offered for the 5K and 10K. The Golden Gallop is the annual fundraiser for the Golden Schools Foundation, which supports Golden’s seven neighborhood schools. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
