20th Annual Golden Gallop
The Golden Gallop is an annual running event in Golden, Colorado, celebrating its 20th anniversary. The race follows a course through the downtown area, passing under the "Welcome" arch, with both the start and finish lines located at Golden High School. Participants receive a long-sleeve sports performance t-shirt, with size availability guaranteed for those who register by September 1st.
The event offers several participation options:
- 5K (3.1 Miles)
- 10K (6.2 Miles)
- Kids Fun Run (For children 10 and under only)
- 20K Challenge (10K completed on race day and 10K completed virtually)
- Sleep In Option (T-shirt only, no race day participation)
Cash awards are available for the top three male and female finishers in the 5K and 10K races. Additional bonuses are provided for setting new course records. Age group awards are also distributed across categories ranging from 10 and under to 80 and over.
Well-behaved dogs are permitted in the 5K and 10K events if registered in advance, and will receive a specific bandana. Runners with dogs or strollers must start at the back of the pack. Dogs are not permitted in the Kids Fun Run. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Golden Schools Foundation to support local educational funding.
