Golden Gallop - 20th Annual
The 20th Annual Golden Gallop takes place on Sunday, September 20, 2026, in Golden, Colorado. The start and finish are at Golden High School and the course runs through downtown under the Golden "Welcome" arch. The event offers on-course loops used in previous years.
Participants can choose from these events:
- 5K
- 10K
- Kids Fun Run (ages 10 and under)
- 20K Challenge - 10K timed on race day, remaining 10K completed virtually
- Sleep In option
Well behaved dogs are allowed on the 5K and 10K; dogs must be registered in the add-on section and will receive a giveaway included in the race packet. Dogs may not participate in the Kids Fun Run. Runners with dogs or strollers must start at the back of the pack.
Cash awards are offered for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in both the 5K and 10K for male and female finishers ($150, $100, $50). Age-group awards are given for both distances across standard age brackets from 10 and under through 80 plus. A $100 bonus is available for new course records. T-shirt size availability is not guaranteed close to the event; sizes are guaranteed for registrations completed by September 1.
The Golden Gallop is a fundraiser for the Golden Schools Foundation, which supports seven Golden neighborhood schools and provides approximately $40,000 in annual support. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
