About the race
The Golden 50 is a 50-mile endurance event celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Essex and Herts LDWA. Held in the scenic village of Manuden, Essex, the course forms a figure of eight, with 25 miles in each county. Participants traverse good footpaths, bridleways, and green lanes, passing through rural Hertfordshire areas like Patmore Heath and the Rib and Ash Valleys, and Essex villages including Clavering, Arkesden, Wicken Bonhunt, and Quendon.
