Springfield Striders Pleshey & Essex Half Marathon
The event is a chip timed half marathon held on Sunday 13 September 2026 around the village of Pleshey near Chelmsford. The course follows a figure of 8 route on quiet country roads and is organised and marshalled by Springfield Striders under UK Athletics rules with England Athletics Licence #31332.
The race is part of the Essex Championship Grand Prix Series and typically brings together about 500 runners. There are four water stations providing cups of water along the route and on site medical cover. Parking is available on the village field behind Pleshey Village Hall; participants are asked not to park on the village roads or obstruct the church.
Essex Championship eligibility applies to those who are UK Athletics members, were born in Essex, or have been residents of Essex for nine months or longer. Entrants can select the Essex Champs option at no extra charge to be eligible for individual and team Essex medals and category presentations. All finishers receive a Pleshey medal and a unique finisher T shirt. Free tea and coffee are provided for runners and additional refreshments are available to purchase.
