Springfield Striders - Pleshey & Essex Half Marathon
The event is a chip timed half marathon scheduled for 13 September 2026 at Pleshey Village Hall, Pleshey, Chelmsford, Essex CM3 1HA. The course is a figure of 8 route on quiet country roads around the village of Pleshey, near Chelmsford. The race is expected to host around 500 runners and is included in the Essex Championship Grand Prix Series.
There are four water stations handing out cups of water along the course and on site medical cover is provided. The event is organised and marshalled by runners and is held under UK Athletics rules with an England Athletics licence number 31332.
Participants who are members of UK Athletics, born in Essex, or who have been residents in Essex for nine months or longer can opt into the Essex Champs category at no extra cost; individual and team medals are awarded in Essex categories. All finishers receive a Pleshey medal and a finishers T shirt, and there are Essex Medal Presentations for category winners.
Free tea and coffee are available for all runners and other refreshments can be purchased. Parking is available on the village field behind the village hall; attendees are asked not to park in the roads in Pleshey or obstruct the church. Entry price is listed as £29.
