Gold Rush Run 5K
The Gold Rush Run 5K takes place in Marion, North Carolina, organized by the Glenwood Ruritan Club. This running event is held in conjunction with the NC Gold Foundation Gold Festival. Participants can choose between two primary activities:
- 5K running race
- Kids Gold Rush Fun Run
The event features a drawing for a genuine gold nugget valued at $200. Every registered runner is automatically entered into this drawing for a chance to win.
Commemorative t-shirts are provided to the first 25 participants who register for the event. For those who register later, additional t-shirts are available for purchase on the day of the race. The registration window opens in March and continues until the day before the event for the 5K distance.
The Kids Gold Rush Fun Run is a free event for children. For the 5K race, there is a fixed registration fee, though the price increases for those who choose to register on the day of the race.
