Going The Distance for the Salvation Army - Morton
This is a charity community run in Morton with proceeds directed to the Salvation Army. The event includes a 5K running race and also accepts donations from people who cannot attend in person.
Participants and visitors may bring gently used shoes for collection; drop off containers will be located at the main table near the start line. The start and finish lines are placed in front of the Morton High School main entrance on Illinois Avenue. Restrooms are available inside Morton High School.
A course map is provided with mile and kilometer markers. Parking guidance is provided on a separate map; the main Morton High School parking lot is the primary lot and walking along Jackson Street leads to the start area. The Jackson Lot is recommended for ease of parking, with overflow lots identified as alternate options. Street parking on Illinois is not allowed on race day. Only volunteers may park on the north side of the start line. A parking lot south of the start line will not be open for entry or exit while the race is ongoing.
Registration opens on 2026-02-23 and closes on 2026-06-20. The registration fee is $15.00. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
