About the race
The Going Bananas Run in Duluth is a roughly two mile fun run held on 06/05/2027 near 1832 W Michigan St, Duluth, MN 55806, US. The event is open to all ages and raises money for Project Joy. Participants wear banana suits provided with registration. The event includes an optional Gorilla Challenge in which all banana-clad participants start first and a person in a gorilla suit is released two minutes later; participants who finish before the gorilla receives a special finisher recognition.
The run proceeds through streets of Duluth and attracts large groups of people in costume, families, friend groups, and individual runners and walkers. Post-race activities include food and drinks, sponsor activities, awards, and photos. The event has grown since its first edition, which brought more than 430 participants in banana suits. Registration details for this edition include an opening date of 06/16/2026, a closing date of 01/07/2027, and a registration fee of $25.00.
