Event overview

Gods Own BYU Fall is scheduled for Saturday 14 November 2026 at Hunters Greave, Pollard Lane, Hawksworth, Leeds, LS5 3BF. The event follows the Backyard Ultra format and is part of the Backyard Ultra Series. Competitors run a repeating loop of 4.167 mile; runners set off on the hour every hour and must complete the loop within the hour to continue. All competitors who fail to start a new loop on time are recorded as DNF until only one runner finishes a loop alone and is crowned the champion. The minimum age to enter is 18. Entry fee is £80. Entries open 18 November 2025 and close 15 October 2026. Entries recorded so far: 87 participants.

Course and facilities

The course is not flat and has elevation gain on each loop. The surface mixes canal towpath, farmland trail, woodland trail and tarmac paths. A separate night loop uses a tarmac canal towpath to avoid crossing the canal in the dark. The route will be fully waymarked and marshalled. Organisers provide hot and cold water, fruit, sweets, camping, toilets and first aid cover. All participants receive a Yorkshire Goodie Bag; t-shirts and hoodies will be available for purchase at the event. Camping is available at the start/finish; parking details will be confirmed and campervan spaces must be pre-arranged. Rail access via Kirkstall Forge is a short walk from the venue.
