Event overview
Gods Own BYU Fall takes place on 14 November 2026 at Hunters Greave, Pollard Lane, Hawksworth, Leeds, LS5 3BF. The event follows the Backyard Ultra format: competitors set off on the hour every hour to complete a 4.167 mile loop. Runners must complete each loop within the hour to be eligible for the next lap; those who fail are recorded as DNF. The final runner to complete a solo lap is declared the champion. Minimum age is 18. Entries open 18 November 2025 and close 15 October 2026. The entry fee is £80. Entries so far: 88 participants.
Course and facilities
The course is a mixture of canal towpath, farmland trail, woodland trail and tarmac paths and is not flat, with elevation gain on each lap. The route will be fully waymarked and marshalled. Aid at the start/finish will include hot and cold water, fruit and sweets. Camping and toilets are available at the start/finish, with first aid cover provided. Limited campervan spaces must be pre-arranged; a parking area will be confirmed.
Rules and services
A bell signals the start of each hour and failure to reach the starting area before the bell results in disqualification. A night route will be used to avoid crossing the canal after dark; participants are expected to wear appropriate clothing and to carry a headtorch and spare batteries if needed. All participants receive a Yorkshire goodie bag; t-shirts and hoodies will be available for purchase. An event disclaimer, cancellation policy, and an option to purchase XCover insurance are offered.
