Gods Own BYU Fall
Gods Own BYU Fall is a backyard ultra event held on 14 November 2026 at Hunters Greave, Pollard Lane, Hawksworth, Leeds LS5 3BF. It follows the Backyard Ultra format and offers a qualifying place in Big Dog's Backyard Ultra through the BYU Championship.
Competitors set off on the hour every hour to complete a 4.167 mile loop. Runners must complete each loop within the hour to be eligible to start the next hour; any competitor who fails to complete a loop is recorded as a DNF. The event continues until only one runner finishes a loop alone and is crowned the champion.
The course is not flat and includes elevation gain on each lap. Surfaces include canal towpath, farmland trail, woodland trail and tarmac paths. A night lap route avoids crossing the canal and follows a tarmac towpath.
Event services include hot and cold water, fruit and sweets, camping, toilets, first aid cover, fully waymarked and marshalled routes, and aid station facilities at the start and finish. All participants receive a Yorkshire Goodie Bag; t-shirts and hoodies are available for purchase during the event. Camping is available at the start and finish; campervan spaces are limited and must be pre-arranged. The recommended public transport access is via Kirkstall Forge rail station, a short walk from the venue.
