Gods Own BYU Fall is scheduled for 14 November 2026 at Hunters Greave, Pollard Lane, Hawksworth, Leeds, LS5 3BF. The minimum entry age is 18. Entries are open from 18 November 2025 and close on 15 October 2026. The entry fee is £80. The event is organised by God's Own Backyard Ultra and is part of the Backyard Ultra Series; it offers a place in Big Dog's Backyard Ultra through the BYU Championship. At the time shown, there are 80 participants entered. The event offers an option to purchase XCover for possible refund in specified circumstances.
Format, course and facilities
Competitors set off on the hour every hour to complete a single loop of 4.167 miles. To continue, runners must complete the loop within the hour; failure to make the starting area before the bell on the hour results in disqualification and a recorded DNF. The last remaining competitor to finish a loop alone is declared the course champion.
The loop has some elevation gain each lap and includes canal towpath, farmland trail, woodland trail and tarmac paths. A night route will avoid crossing the canal and uses a tarmac canal towpath. The event provides hot and cold water, fruit, sweets, waymarking, marshals, camping, toilets and first aid cover. All participants receive a Yorkshire goodie bag; t-shirts and hoodies will be available for purchase. Camping is available at the start/finish and limited campervan spaces must be pre-arranged. The nearest rail access is Kirkstall Forge, a short walk from the venue. Appropriate clothing and a headtorch with spare batteries are required for night running.
