Gods Own BYU - Spring 2026 Silver is scheduled for Saturday 23 May 2026 at Hunters Greave, Pollard Lane, Hawksworth, Leeds, LS5 3BF. The event has a minimum age of 18 and an entry fee of £80. Entries are now full. The event is part of the Backyard Ultra format and is designated a "silver event"; winners of silver events qualify for entry into the gold world team championship.
Format, course and facilities
Competitors run a repeated loop of 4.167 miles. Runners set off on the hour every hour and must complete the loop within the hour to be eligible to start the next loop; failure to do so results in a DNF. Only the last person to complete a loop alone will avoid a DNF and be declared the course champion. The day course is not flat and includes elevation gain on each lap. Surfaces include canal towpath, farmland trail, woodland trail and tarmac; a separate night route follows tarmac towpath to avoid crossing the canal in the dark.
The venue provides hot and cold water, fruit and sweets, camping, toilets and first aid cover. The route will be waymarked and marshalled. All participants receive a Yorkshire goodie bag and a special edition T-shirt; eco-friendly T-shirts and hoodies are available to order before the event. Camping and parking are available from Friday and limited campervan space must be pre-arranged. The nearest rail access is Kirkstall Forge station, a short walk from the venue.
