Gods Own BYU - Spring 2026 Silver takes place on 23 May 2026 at Hunters Greave, Pollard Lane, Hawksworth, Leeds, LS5 3BF. The event is a Silver-level Backyard Ultra format affiliated event. Entries opened 20 May 2025 and closed 23 April 2026; the event is listed as full with 82 participants and an entry fee of £80. The minimum age is 18 or older. The winner of this Silver event qualifies for entry into the Gold world team championship.
Format, course and facilities
Competitors set off on the hour every hour and must complete a 4.167 mile loop within the hour to continue. Runners who fail to complete the loop in time are recorded as DNF; the last competitor to complete a loop alone is declared the champion. The daytime course is not flat and includes elevation gain on each loop. Surfaces include canal towpath, farmland trail, woodland trail and tarmac; a night variation uses a tarmac canal towpath to avoid crossing the canal in the dark. The event provides hot and cold water, fruit and sweets, camping, toilets and first aid cover. The route is fully waymarked and marshalled. Camping is available at the start/finish and limited campervan spaces must be pre-arranged.
