Gods Own BYU - Spring 2026 Silver takes place on 23 May 2026 at Hunters Greave, Pollard Lane, Hawksworth, Leeds LS5 3BF. The event follows the Backyard Ultra format and is held as a Silver affiliated event; winners qualify for entry into the gold world team championship.
Competitors set off on the hour every hour to complete a 4.167 mile loop. Runners must complete each loop within the hour to start the next hour. All competitors record a DNF until one person completes a final lap alone and is crowned the course champion.
The course is not flat and includes some elevation gain on each lap. Surfaces include canal towpath, farmland trail, woodland trail and tarmac. A separate night route avoids crossing the canal and follows a tarmac towpath. Organisers require appropriate clothing for the weather and state that participants not suitably dressed will not be allowed to continue. A headtorch and spare batteries are recommended for running into the night.
On-site provisions include hot and cold water, fruit and sweets, camping, toilets and first aid cover. The route will be fully waymarked and marshalled. All participants receive a Yorkshire goodie bag and a special edition T-shirt; eco friendly t-shirts and hoodies are available to order before the event for collection at the venue.
