About the race
God's Own Backyard Ultra – Spring 2026 takes place at Hunters Greave, Pollard Lane, Hawksworth, Leeds LS5 3BF, as part of the Backyard Ultra Series. The race follows the BYU format: competitors run a 4.167-mile loop and must complete it within the hour to start the next loop; if not, they are a DNF. The course is not flat, featuring canal towpath, farmland and woodland trails, plus sections on tarmac, with elevation gain on each loop.
Amenities include camping, toilets, first aid, fully waymarked routes, water and sweets, plus a bespoke Yorkshire Goodie Bag and a limited edition T-shirt. It’s a silver event linked to the BYU championship. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
