Event
The Gobble on the Green 5K takes place on November 27, 2025 in Cashiers, NC at The Village Green Commons (160 Frank Allen Rd). The event includes a 5K Run/Walk (entry fee $35) and a free Kids Obstacle Course called the Junior Warrior Course. The event is described as a Thanksgiving Day turkey-trot and is held rain or shine.
Logistics and awards
Early check-in is available on November 26 at The Village Green Lewis Hall; race day check-in is available inside Lewis Hall. T-shirts are limited: the final t-shirt order is placed on November 7 and shirts are available only to those registered by that date. The course includes gravel, grass, dirt, and paved sections; signage and volunteers will be posted along the route. Parents with strollers are asked to start at the back of the group. Dogs are not allowed to participate; spectators’ dogs must be leashed and under control.
Parking is available nearby at The Village Play, the Jackson County Recreation Center, the Albert Carlton Cashiers Community Library, the Post Office parking lot (excluding the row closest to the building), and the grass lot behind the United Community Bank. Awards include pies and medals for the top two overall male and female finishers, age-group awards for the top two male and female in seven age groups, and four door prizes drawn from bib numbers. Participants must be present to win. Race times will be posted on the event website after the race. The Village Green is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that maintains a 13+ acre park open year-round.
