Goat Island Games 5 Mile and 5K
The Goat Island Games take place on May 2, 2026, at Goat Island Park and Greenway, 141 8th Avenue, Cramerton, NC. The event offers both a 5K and a 5 mile race with chip timing and course certification.
The course starts and finishes at Goat Island Park and follows a route through Downtown Cramerton, past the Veterans Memorial, along Stuart Cramer High School, beside a historic train trestle, by a public art sculpture, and through the Lakewood Neighborhood before returning to Goat Island.
Distances offered
- 5K - chip timed; 1 hour 5 minute cutoff (21.5 minutes per mile pace)
- 5 mile - chip timed; 1 hour 15 minute cutoff (15 minutes per mile pace)
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to top three male and female finishers in defined age groups, including a 70 and over category for both distances. Both courses are listed as USATF certified and the event is part of the Run Gaston Race Series.
A post-race festival follows with hydration and snacks, music, vendor booths by local organizations, and recovery workouts. Registration includes a chip-timed race bib, an official race shirt, and awards. The event is presented as an official Gaston 250 celebration for America 250.
