Goat Island Games 5 Mile and 5K
The Goat Island Games is scheduled for June 6, 2026 and celebrates America's 250th anniversary. The event was postponed to this new date due to weather. The start and finish are at Goat Island Park and Greenway, located at 141 8th Avenue in Cramerton, NC.
The course offers a scenic tour through Downtown Cramerton, past the Veterans Memorial, through the Stuart Cramer High School campus, alongside a train trestle, near a public art sculpture, and through the Lakewood Neighborhood before returning to Goat Island Park.
Distances offered
- 5K - chip timed; 1 hour 5 minute cutoff (21.5 minutes per mile pace)
- 5 mile - chip timed; 1 hour 15 minute cutoff (15 minutes per mile pace)
Both the 5K and 5 mile courses are USATF certified and the event is part of the Run Gaston Race Series. Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in multiple age groups, including a 70 plus category. Registration includes a chip timed race bib and an official race shirt with a shirt guarantee date of Monday, May 18.
A post race festival follows with hydration and snacks, music, vendor booths by local organizations, and recovery workouts. The event is rain or shine and registration fees are non refundable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
