Event Overview
The Goat Island Games 5 Mile and 5K takes place on May 2, 2026 in Cramerton, North Carolina. The event starts and finishes at Goat Island Park and Greenway (141 8th Avenue). It celebrates America's 250th anniversary, with a theme encouraging patriotic attire.

Participants can choose between two chip-timed distances:
- 5 Mile - There is a cutoff time of 1 hour and 15 minutes.
- 5K
Course and Location
The course begins at the 30-acre Goat Island Park. Runners tour Downtown Cramerton, pass the Veterans Memorial and Stuart Cramer High School, and see views of a train trestle and a public art sculpture. The route goes through the Lakewood Neighborhood before returning to the park.
Awards
For the 5 Mile race, awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, and the top three in seven age groups: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
Registration and Details
Registration includes a chip-timed bib and a race shirt. A shirt is guaranteed for those who register by April 13, 2026. The event is part of the Run Gaston Race Series. There is a post-race festival with hydration, snacks, music, vendor booths, and recovery workouts. The race is held rain or shine, and registration fees are non-refundable.
Packet Pickup
Packet pickup is available on the day before the race at two locations in Cramerton and on race morning at the start/finish line from 7:30 AM to 8:15 AM. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
