About the race
The Goat Cliff Road Race is a one mile paved road race held on private roads near Lake Burton in Clayton, Georgia. The course begins on Acorn Creek Road and follows Sonya Road, featuring a sustained 500 foot climb in elevation. Runners will pass views of Lake Burton and the surrounding North Georgia Mountains, with notable lakeside homes and clear water visible from parts of the route. The event title indicates it is sold out.
The organizer states that the normally private road and community will be opened for this event. All proceeds are donated to the local volunteer fire department. A finisher T-shirt is included. Medals will be awarded to top finishers in seven divisions, listed by the organizer as Men’s Division, Women’s Division, Kid’s Division with three separate age groups (Little Kids 8 and under; Growing Kids ages 9 and 10; Big Kids ages 11 to 13), and a senior division for participants 60 and older called The Silver Goats. Parking is limited and participants will be provided parking instructions closer to race day, according to the event information. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
