Goat Cliff Road Race
The Goat Cliff Road Race takes place on a paved road located near the shores of Lake Burton in Clayton, Georgia. The course begins on Acorn Creek Road and follows an upward trajectory onto Sonya Road, which is a private community thoroughfare usually closed to the public. The race distance is 1 mile.
Participants navigate a route that includes a 500-foot elevation gain. The course provides views of the North Georgia Mountains and Lake Burton, known for its clear water and surrounding residential architecture. Because the event is held on private property, the number of participants is limited due to available parking space.
Registration includes a finisher T-shirt. The event awards medals to top finishers across several categories:
- Men’s Division
- Women’s Division
- Little Kids (ages 8 and under)
- Growing Kids (ages 9 and 10)
- Big Kids (ages 11 to 13)
All proceeds from the event are donated to the local volunteer fire department. Parking instructions are provided to registered participants prior to the day of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
