GNOCA 5K Run/Walk in Newburyport
The Greater Newburyport Ovarian Cancer Awareness 5K is a community run and walk held at Michael's Harborside in Newburyport, MA on Sunday, November 15, 2026. The event raises funds and awareness for local ovarian cancer support and honors two local individuals.
The event offers both an in-person 5K and a virtual 5K option. Official chip timing is provided for all 5K runners this year. Pre-race bib pick-up is available the day before at Marathon Sports, 27 Water Street, Newburyport. The race day program includes check-in, a welcome ceremony, and a presentation of runner prizes.
Registration tiers and key entry details:
- Adults: early-bird and standard pricing, with a higher race-day fee.
- Teens (12–17): single standard rate, includes race bib and chip.
- Kids (under 12): free registration when accompanied by an adult; strollers are permitted.
Course outlines are published for both participants:
- The 5K run starts on Merrimac Street near Michael's Harborside, follows the Merrimack River, passes Newburyport High School, uses the Rail Trail, and finishes under the Andrew J. Gillis Memorial Bridge.
- The 5K walk follows Water Street through the downtown waterfront, proceeds up State and High Streets, includes a loop in Cashman Park along the Merrimack River, and returns along the Harborwalk to the finish.
