Glow in the Park 5K - Dobson
Glow in the Park is an evening 5K held at Fisher River Park, 251 County Home Road, Dobson, NC 27017. The trails will be lit with blacklights and decorated with glow paint and glow balloons. Participants may use glow paint and glow sticks and may run or walk the course.
The event includes family-oriented activities before and after the run such as inflatable games, hayrides, pumpkin carving, food trucks, and other park activities. There is a free concert by Runaway Train at the park amphitheatre. A costume contest with two divisions, 12 and under and 12 plus, will be judged and prizes awarded.
The 5K is an officially timed event using chip timing and the field will be capped at 225 runners. Registration is listed at a single fee of $20 and that fee is noted as including a glow in the dark t-shirt; registering by October 1 ensures receipt of the shirt while supplies last. Every finisher will receive a custom medal and there are custom awards for the top three finishers in the age divisions: female and male 14 and under, female and male 15 to 49, and female and male 50 plus.
