Event overview
The Glentress Trail Marathon takes place on Sunday 15 February 2026 at Glentress Peel Visitor Centre near Peebles, in the Tweed Valley Forest Park. The event is held in conjunction with Glentress 21k and 10k trail races. The venue is located between Peebles and Innerleithen and is about one hour from Edinburgh.

Entry details include a fee of £50 and £52 plus a 4% online booking fee, minimum age 17, and a 50% refund (minus the booking fee) up to six weeks before the event. Registration is based at Glentress Peel cafe and requires personal ID; race numbers must be collected in person. On-site parking uses an ANPR system with charges: free up to 30 minutes, £3 up to 1 hour, £4 up to 3 hours, £6 all day.
Course and race information
The 42k course comprises two laps of the 21k circuit. Total ascent for the full distance is approximately 1,260 m, with each 21k circuit listed at 633 m ascent and 630 m descent. The course reaches a high point of 572 m. Terrain includes hard-packed gravel, forest singletrack, sections of open moorland, long climbs and descents, and parts of Tower, Blue, Red and Black mountain bike trails. Routes are fully marked so navigation experience is not required. The organisers note the route is provisional and may be subject to change.
There are two hydration stations on each 21k circuit (Spooky Wood at about 6k and 27k, Tower Rig at about 12k and 33k) plus one at the halfway/finish area. No cups will be provided; participants should carry personal drink containers. A kit list is mandatory. There is an intermediate cut-off of 4 hours for the first lap and an overall time limit of 8 hours 30 minutes.
