About the race
Wild Deer Scottish Trail Runs returns to Dalkeith Country Park, a 1000-acre estate outside Edinburgh. In 2025 the event adds Marathon and Ultra distances alongside 5 km, 10 km and a Half Marathon. Distances are 5km, 10km, Half Marathon (two laps), Marathon (four laps) and Ultra (five laps), totaling 32.5 miles.
The mixed-terrain courses feature rough trails, firm paths, grass and woodland; suitable for runners of all levels. Canicross is allowed with one controlled dog per runner. Ultra has an eight-hour cut-off.
Timing is live chip-timed; finishers receive a medal, merchandise and a VOOM Nutrition energy bar. On-site parking is available; an optional event T-shirt can be purchased. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
