Glenariffe Mountain Race 'Spud Run' 2026
The Glenariffe Mountain Race 'Spud Run' is an established mountain running event included in the NIMRA Championship. Organized by Glens Runners and supported by Glens of Antrim Potatoes, the race takes place in the Glenariffe area. The event follows a clearly marked route with chip timing provided for all participants.
Participants will cover a distance of 9.7 km (6 miles) featuring a total elevation gain of 370 metres (1200 ft). The course starts and finishes at the Glenariffe Community and Recreation Centre.

In accordance with NIMRA race guidelines, specific equipment and safety regulations are in place. All runners must carry a full race kit consisting of waterproof trousers, a waterproof coat, a hat, gloves, and a whistle. Appropriate footwear, such as trail or fell shoes, is mandatory; road trainers are not permitted. The use of walking poles, headphones, or earbuds is prohibited during the race.
The event utilizes online registration, and no entries are accepted on the day of the race. The minimum age for participants is 17 years.
