Glen Doherty Memorial Road Race
The Glen Doherty Memorial Road Race is an annual 5K and 10K event held in Winchester, Massachusetts on September 20, 2026. The race starts and gathers at Winchester Town Hall and uses the same route as prior years.
Distances offered:
- 5K
- 10K All 10K participants run the 5K loop twice.
The event offers in-person and virtual participation. Race shirts are free for the first 500 in-person registered participants; additional shirts and other merchandise are available for purchase during bib pickup and race weekend. A virtual option is available; virtual registrants must register by September 9 for bib shipping and virtual participants are not eligible for race shirts.
Registration fee structure:
- Early bird through July 10: $35 adults, $25 kids under 18
- Regular through September 18: $45 adults, $25 kids under 18
- Race weekend: $55 adults, $25 kids under 18 On-site registration assistance and computers are available during bib pickup times.
Bib pickup and in-person registration:
- Saturday September 19, 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Winchester Town Hall, 71 Mt. Vernon St.
- Sunday September 20, 9:30am to 11:00am at Jenks Center Parking Lot, 109 Skillings Rd.
Proceeds support the foundation's Scholarship Fund to assist members of the Special Operations community with education and professional training. Street and lot parking is available near downtown Winchester and at nearby schools and the MBTA station. Volunteer roles include setup crew and course marshals with sign ups during the race weekend.
