Glas Tulaichean Uphill Race
The Glas Tulaichean Uphill Race is scheduled for 16 May 2026 at Dalmunzie Estate, Spittal of Glenshee PH10 7QE. The event is organised by Dundee Hawkhill Harriers and is a Scottish Athletics licensed event #ES014879. Entry fees are listed as £8 or £6 for Scottish Athletics members.
The course is uphill only, finishing at the summit of Glas Tulaichean (1051 m). The route runs mainly on good double track with a few stream crossings and the final few hundred metres on open hill. The race distance is 7.2 km / 4.5 mi with an ascent of 670 m / 2200 ft. A land rover will transport a bag to the summit for each competitor so warm clothes can be collected at the top; runners then return downhill for post-race tea and prize giving. Competitors are asked to bring their own cup for tea and coffee to reduce plastic waste.
All hill race competitors must carry full waterproof body cover including hat and gloves. Minimum age is 17. The race follows Scottish Athletics and Scottish Hill Runners rules and may use an alternative course in poor weather. Online entries close on 14 May 2026 and there will also be entry on the day. There is an approximately 1 km Glas T Toe Tickle fun run for younger runners; entry is free and participants receive a certificate and treat.
Prize categories include male and female 1st to 3rd, veteran categories (V40, V50, V60, V70 etc) and first team male and female with three to count. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
