Race Overview
The Glacier Ridge Ultramarathon and Trail Race takes place on Saturday, May 9, 2026. The event offers four race distances: 50 miles, 50K, 20 miles, and a five-person 50-mile relay. The courses are out-and-back style.
Course
The 20-mile and 50K courses primarily follow the blue-blazed Glacier Ridge Trail, which is part of the North Country Trail system. The route runs between Moraine State Park and the Jennings Environmental Education Center near Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania.
Location & Schedule
The event is based at the McDanels Boat Launch in Moraine State Park, Portersville, PA. Packet pick-up and a race briefing are available on the Friday before the race at the park's pavilion #7.
Crew Access
Crews are permitted only for runners in the 50K and 50-mile individual events. They may meet their runner at the established aid stations (Upper 528, Jennings, North Country Club Road) and must provide assistance within 100 yards of those stations. Finisher Items & Awards
- All finishers, including each relay team member, receive a finisher's medallion.
- 50-mile finishers get a quarter-zip technical long-sleeved shirt.
- 50K finishers get a technical long-sleeved shirt.
- 20-mile and 50-mile relay participants get a technical short-sleeved shirt.
- Trophies are awarded to the first-place male and female finishers in each race distance.
