The Give Thanks 8K takes place on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in Athens, GA (zip 30601). The event program includes:
- 8K Run/Walk
- Kids Fun Run (open to ages 12 and under)
The 8K entry fee is $40 and includes a race T-shirt. The Kids Fun Run fee is $10. Registration prices increase after November 14, 2025. Registrations for the Kids Fun Run must be submitted by November 14 to guarantee a shirt size.
Logistics and course
The race starts and finishes at Hendershot's, 237 Prince Ave, Athens, GA. Packet pick-up is available Wednesday, November 26 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at ACCA (135 Hoyt Street, Athens) and on race morning at Hendershot's. The course is USATF certified at 8 kilometers (4.97 miles). RaceJoy will be provided for live GPS tracking, progress alerts, and audio cheers; participants must carry their phones and activate tracking to use this service. Donations and race management are handled by the Athens Community Council on Aging (ACCA). Awards are given to the top three overall male and female, overall masters and grand masters, youngest male and female 8K competitor, and first place in each listed age division from 9 & under through 75 & over.
