Girls on the Run Western Colorado 5K - Durango
This event is the end-of-season celebratory 5K for Girls on the Run Western Colorado. It is scheduled for Oct. 31, 2026, at the Smith Sport Complex at Fort Lewis College in Durango. The course distance is 3.1 miles. The closing event is presented as a celebration village with booths and merchandise available for purchase, and every registered participant who completes the course receives a commemorative medal and council swag.
Registration is offered in tiered pricing: $30 for registrations from Aug. 19 to Sept. 30, $40 from Oct. 1 to Oct. 28, and $45 on the day of the event. Program participants and coaches are registered through the program and do not need to register separately. Family members and community participants may register to join the event; all registrants sign liability waivers.
The council states that 5K events are accessible for people with disabilities, with designated parking and options to walk, run, push, or roll at one’s own pace. Safety measures include mandatory race bibs provided by the council, assignment of running buddies, course monitoring with head counts, and a safety plan that trains staff and volunteers to respond to incidents.
