Girls on the Run Upstate South Carolina 5K Celebration
The Girls on the Run Upstate South Carolina 5K Celebration is a seasonal closing event held on November 14, 2026 at BridgeWay Station in Simpsonville, SC. The event features a paved 5K course (3.1 miles) intended for program participants, their 5K Buddies, family members and community registrants. Teams begin the course one at a time in the order they are set up.
The event emphasizes inclusion and safety. Every participant must wear a race bib and is assigned a running buddy; designated parking and an accessible course allow people to walk, run, roll or push at their own pace. Strollers are permitted, and children who ride in strollers do not require registration. The council monitors the course, conducts head counts, and trains staff and volunteers on an emergency safety plan.
Pre-5K activities include hair and bib decoration stations, a dance party and group warm-ups. All program participants receive a commemorative medal. Registered 5K Buddies and community participants receive a swag bag and a t-shirt if registered by the stated registration deadline. Liability waivers are included with registration.
