Girls on the Run Upstate South Carolina 5K Celebration
The Fall 2026 5K Celebration takes place on November 14, 2026 at BridgeWay Station (1000 Via Corso Ave., Simpsonville, SC 29681). This event serves as the season-closing 5K for Girls on the Run Upstate South Carolina and provides program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment. Everyone in the program receives a commemorative medal.
The course is a 5K (3.1 miles) on paved surfaces and is presented as a non-competitive, untimed event. Participants can walk, run, roll, push or skip at their own pace. The event is accessible for people with disabilities and includes designated accessible parking. Strollers are allowed and children riding in strollers do not need separate registration.
The council assigns a 5K Buddy for each participant; a 5K Buddy must be at least 16 years old and may be a parent or guardian. Safety measures include required race bibs, course monitoring with head counts, restricted access to confidential information, and a safety plan that trains staff and volunteers on emergency response.
Pre-5K activities include options such as "Happy" hair, Bling Your Bib, a dance party and warm-ups. Merchandise will be available for sale. Registration tiers and dates are published, with early bird and later rates; registrants after October 23 are not guaranteed a t-shirt.
