Girls on the Run Southern Idaho Blaine County 5K
Girls on the Run Southern Idaho holds an end of season 5K celebration at Swiftsure Ranch on November 7. The event is a noncompetitive, community 5K known as the Girls on the Run 5K Celebration and Color Me Fearless 5K. The course distance is 3.1 miles, and participants may walk, run, roll or push at their own pace.
Program participants and coaches are pre-registered and attend at no cost. Community members and Running Buddies may join with a suggested donation of $10. Every registered participant who completes the 5K receives a commemorative medal.
Safety and accessibility measures are in place. All participants must wear a race bib provided by the council. The council assigns Running Buddies to accompany participants on course; parents or guardians may serve as Running Buddies. Organizers monitor the course, perform head counts, and maintain a safety plan with trained staff and volunteers. Designated accessible parking is available.
The event includes additional activities and amenities such as color stations, bling your bib and happy hair stations, and a merchandise booth. Volunteers support set up, registration, course marshals, running buddy roles, water and cheer stations, and similar tasks; volunteers appointed through the council undergo a background check.
