Legends Never Die : Event overview
Legends Never Die is a trail running event on October 2, 2027, at Oregon Gulch near Ketchum, Idaho. The event offers two loop courses on well-marked single-track trails that pass through forested sections, open alpine terrain, and riverside approaches.
Starting and finishing at Oregon Gulch via Curly’s near Easley Hot Springs, the courses include the Oregon Fox Connector and sections along the Big Wood River. The ultra adds a loop around Fox Peak and extends toward Easley Hot Springs, with rugged climbs and high elevation segments. Weather can vary in early October and there is a chance of snow at higher elevations. Starts are staggered by assigned pace to manage trail flow.

- Half Marathon (13.1 miles) - 2,450 ft elevation gain, high point 7,600 ft
- Ultra Marathon (55K / ~34 miles) - 6,781 ft elevation gain, high point 8,650 ft
Aid stations are stocked by Atkinsons Market with Tailwind, water, and fuel. Race photos are provided free by Smiley’s Mountain Photo. The event supports Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation, Wood River Trails Coalition, and Soles4Souls. Title sponsor and partners provide lodging, prizes, and finish line provisions, and there is a cash prize for anyone who breaks a course record. Registration opens Jan 1st.
