Girls on the Run Silicon Valley 5K Celebration
Girls on the Run Silicon Valley stages a season closing 5K celebration on May 15, 2027 at Vasona Lake County Park in Los Gatos, CA. The event is a noncompetitive closing experience for program participants and invited community members. The course length is 3.1 miles.
The event is framed around building confidence through completion. Crossing the finish line provides a tangible sense of accomplishment and every registered participant who completes the course receives a commemorative medal. Participants are invited to move at their own pace; walking, running, rolling, pushing or skipping are all allowed. Typical completion times vary, with many participants finishing between about 30 and 60 minutes.
Safety and accessibility measures are in place. Every participant must wear a race bib and is paired with a running buddy for the full course. The council monitors the course, conducts head counts, and maintains a safety plan for staff and volunteers. The course and event facilities include designated accessible parking.
Family members and community participants may take part if they register and sign the required waiver. The event also includes additional activities and amenities such as merchandise sales, a photo garden, team tables with happy hair and tattoos, dancing, and sponsor bingo.
