Girls on the Run Silicon Valley Spring 5K
The Girls on the Run Silicon Valley 5K is a season-closing, celebratory event held on May 15, 2027 at Vasona Lake County Park in Los Gatos, California. The event gives program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment by completing a 5K course, which is 3.1 miles.
This event is presented as noncompetitive and focuses on completion. While some participants finish in about 25 minutes, most cross the line in 30 to 60 minutes. Every registered participant who completes the course receives a commemorative medal.
Safety and inclusion are part of the event design. Every participant must wear a race bib and the council assigns a running buddy who accompanies the participant for the full course. The council monitors the course, conducts head counts, and maintains a safety plan that trains staff and volunteers to respond to incidents. The 5K is accessible for people with disabilities; participants may walk, run, push, or roll, and designated parking is available. All registrations include a liability waiver.
The 5K also features nonrace activities at team tables and around the site, including a photo garden, happy hair and tattoos, dancing, sponsor bingo, and a merchandise booth.
