5K Celebration
Girls on the Run Silicon Valley holds a season-closing 5K on May 15, 2027 at Vasona Lake County Park, 333 Blossom Hill Rd, Los Gatos, CA 95032. The course is 3.1 miles and the event is presented as a celebratory closing for program participants.
The event is designed for participants of all abilities; attendees may walk, run, roll, push or skip at their own pace. Every registered participant who completes the 5K receives a commemorative medal. Family, friends and community members outside the program may also participate but must register. All registrations include liability waivers.
Safety measures include mandatory race bibs for every participant, assignment of a running buddy to accompany each participant for the full course, course monitoring with head counts, and a safety plan that trains staff and volunteers to respond to incidents. The council restricts access to confidential information to critical 5K volunteers.
The event notes accessibility accommodations and designated parking for people with disabilities. Training programs are available to guide running buddies and others preparing for the course. On-site offerings at the event include a merchandise booth, a photo garden, team-table activities such as happy hair and temporary tattoos, dancing, and sponsor bingo.
