Girls on the Run Silicon Valley Spring 5K
Girls on the Run Silicon Valley holds a seasonal, celebratory 5K on May 15, 2027, at Vasona Lake County Park in Los Gatos, California. The event serves as the closing activity for program participants and is intended to provide a tangible sense of accomplishment for participants of all abilities.
The course distance is 5K (3.1 miles). The event is presented as a noncompetitive, celebratory experience where participants may walk, run, roll, push, or skip at their own pace. Typical completion times range from about 25 to 60 minutes for many participants.
Several safety and accessibility measures are in place. Every participant must wear a race bib. The council assigns a running buddy to each participant; a running buddy completes the entire course alongside the participant and may be a parent or guardian. Designated parking and an accessible course are available. Organizers monitor the course, perform head counts, and maintain a safety plan with trained staff and volunteers.
Registration includes a liability waiver. Registered participants who complete the 5K receive a commemorative medal. Families and community members may participate if they register. The event also features additional activities such as a photo garden, team tables with happy hair and tattoos, dancing, sponsor bingo, and a merchandise tent.
