About the race
Girls on the Run Rhode Island Fall 5K is a season-closing, celebratory 5K held on November 15, 2026 at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, RI. The event marks the end of the program season and gives participants a concrete sense of accomplishment when they complete the course.
The course is 5K (3.1 miles). The 5K is untimed and described as a celebratory event rather than a competitive race. The event is open to program participants, their designated 5K buddies, and community members. Registered 5K participants receive a Girls on the Run 5K beanie, bib, and finisher medal. Fall program participants are already registered and do not need to register again. Open online registration is listed at $35 with day-of registration at $40; day-of registration carries a price increase. All registrations include a liability waiver.
Logistics note that parking areas are signed and expect about a 10 minute walk to the 5K Village. Water stations are located at Mile 1, Mile 2, and the finish line. For safety, participants must wear their provided 5K bib. The event is accessible for people who walk, run, push, or roll. The 5K runs rain-or-shine and is cancelled only for severe threatening conditions. Additional activities include pre-race activity tables and merchandise sales.
