Girls on the Run Northern Virginia One Loudoun 5K
This event is a season-closing celebratory 5K for Girls on the Run Northern Virginia program participants. The 5K is a non-competitive, untimed event on a course of 3.1 miles that offers participants a clear milestone at the end of the season. Everyone in the program receives a commemorative medal.
Program participants are automatically registered for the 5K. The event allows family, friends, and community members to participate as Community Runners, provided they register. The program uses Buddy Runners, individuals who complete the entire course alongside a participant to provide safety and encouragement; Buddy Runners may be designated by the council or by a parent or guardian.
Registration uses tiered pricing: Early Bird is $35, Regular $40, Late $45, and Day-of registration is $50. A t-shirt request requires registration by March 31. Packet pick-up is available before the event for those who register after the team pick-up deadlines.
The organizer lists multiple volunteer roles to support the event, including packet pick-up, start/finish line assistance, water station attendants, course and cheer marshals, activity station helpers, bike marshal, medical tent volunteers, and team packing support.
