5K Celebration : Confidence through Accomplishment
The Girls on the Run Northeast Indiana season concludes with a celebratory 5K (3.1 miles) held at Shoaff Park (Riverside Pavilion area) in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on Sunday, November 15, 2026. The event is open to the public and benefits the Girls on the Run Scholarship Fund. Program participants and coaches are already registered through the council and do not need to register again.
Registration uses tiered pricing: Early Bird $25 (8/1-9/30), Standard $35 (10/1-10/31), Delayed $40 (11/1-11/14), and in-person event weekend registration $50. All registrants must complete liability waivers. Free parking and designated accessible parking spots are available.
The 5K is presented as a fun, noncompetitive celebration rather than a chip-timed race; all finishers who complete the course receive a commemorative medal. For safety, every participant must wear a race bib and have a running buddy for the duration of the course; parents or guardians may serve as running buddies. The council monitors the course, conducts head counts, and trains staff and volunteers on emergency procedures. The course is accessible: participants may walk, run, push, or roll at their own pace. Pets are not allowed, but service animals are welcome. Additional on-site activities include face painting, water stations, happy hair stations, and merchandise for sale. Volunteers assist with setup, registration, course marshaling, running buddies, water stations, cheer stations, and more; volunteers appointed through the council undergo background checks.
