Veterans Marathon and Half Marathon
Race Beyond Limits hosts the 18th annual Veterans Marathon and Half Marathon in Columbia City, Indiana. The event honors U.S. Veterans and will honor the Army for this running. A portion of event proceeds will be donated to local veteran charities.
The courses start downtown on East Van Buren Street, head west through town, loop through rural countryside, and return to town to finish alongside the Whitley County Courthouse. The marathon is run as two identical loops. Both courses carry USATF certification: Marathon IN17015TDK and Half Marathon IN17014TDK. The marathon course has maintained Boston Qualifier status.
Distances:
- 26.2 Miles Marathon two loops, USATF IN17015TDK, registration fee $75
- 13.1 Miles Half marathon, USATF IN17014TDK, registration fee $50
The marathon course includes 15 fully staffed aid stations with Culligan water and Gatorade; GU gels are available at mile markers 4, 11, 17, and 24 and at other indicated locations. The half marathon includes 6 fully staffed aid stations with Culligan water, Gatorade, and GU gels available at some stations. The course closes six hours after the start; special consideration for up to seven hours may be arranged with an early start by contacting the race director.
