Veterans Marathon and Half Marathon : Columbia City, IN
The event is the 18th annual Veterans Marathon and Half Marathon held in Columbia City, Indiana. It honors U.S. veterans and specifically recognizes the Army for this running. A portion of event profits will be donated to local veteran charities.
Both races begin in downtown Columbia City on East Van Buren Street and use country and town roads. The marathon follows a two-loop course that departs west through town, loops through the countryside, returns past the start line to begin the second loop, and finishes alongside the Whitley County Courthouse. The half marathon follows a similar route that finishes alongside the Whitley County Courthouse.
Aid and certification details are provided for each distance. The marathon has 15 fully staffed aid stations with Culligan water and Gatorade and GU gels available at several locations; USATF certification is IN17015TDK. The half marathon has 6 fully staffed aid stations with Culligan water and Gatorade and GU gels at select markers; USATF certification is IN17014TDK. The course closes after 6 hours; organizers may allow an extended time up to 7 hours with an early start by arrangement.
Registration opens April 18, 2026 and closes May 31, 2026. Post-race offerings include hot soups, other refreshments, and age-group awards for the top two finishers in each division. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
