Winter Wonder Dash
The Winter Wonder Dash is an annual holiday event held at Franke Park in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This event provides participants with access to walk or run through festive holiday light displays curated by Blue Jacket, Inc. before they are opened to the general public for drive-through viewing. The course features more than 200 light displays within the park grounds.
Participants can choose from different distances and formats over two days:
- 2K Family Walk: A non-timed holiday walk where participants can begin their course at any point during a designated one-hour open start window.
- 5K Walk/Run: A timed event for those looking for a measured distance.
- Virtual Races: Options for both 2K and 5K distances that can be completed at any time or location.
The event occurs in an outdoor environment during the winter season. The start line for the in-person distances is located in the parking lot of Pavilion #1. While the 5K is a timed event, the 2K Family Walk is not timed, although participants in both distances receive race bibs. Special commemorative ornaments and t-shirts are provided to participants. Awards for the 5K are designated for the top three overall male and female finishers in the categories of 14 and Under, Overall, and Masters (40+). No gear check is provided on-site.
