5K Celebration
Girls on the Run Los Angeles County holds a season-closing celebratory 5K at Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in South El Monte, California. The event date is listed as TBD for the first or second Saturday of December 2026.
The course is 5K (3.1 miles) and is not timed. Participants may run, walk, skip, push, or roll at their own pace. Every registered participant who completes the course receives a commemorative medal. Program participants and coaches are automatically registered and do not need to register again.
Event features include face painting, temporary tattoos, bib decorating, cheer cards, and a merchandise booth. The event is accessible for people with disabilities and provides designated parking spots. Strollers are allowed on the course; other wheeled devices such as roller blades, skateboards, and scooters are not permitted. Dogs and pets are not allowed in the Village or on the race course, except for official service animals with documentation.
Registration pricing is listed as $35 for online pre-purchase and $40 for general day-of registration. Parking is free for registered program participants who present a physical parking pass from their Head Coach; other vehicles are charged a park entry fee.
