Girls on the Run Greater Cincinnati 5K Celebration
The Girls on the Run Greater Cincinnati 5K is the season-closing event for the council's program. It takes place at Smale Riverfront Park on November 21, 2026 and gives program participants of all abilities a tangible sense of accomplishment. Crossing the finish line is presented as a moment that builds confidence through completion, and every program participant receives a commemorative medal.
Registration fees vary by age and by date, with an early-bird rate available through October 21, standard rates through November 20, and higher registration fees on race day. Prices are listed separately for children 7 years and under and for participants 8 years and up.
Volunteers support event logistics and participant experience. Volunteer roles include set-up and tear down, course marshals, water stops, cheer zones, activities in the Fun Zone (for example happy hair and temporary tattoos), a green team, and start/finish duties. Volunteers appointed through the council undergo a Girls on the Run background check.
Local and national partners contribute to the event. National partners named for the 5K include Adidas, Gamma Phi Beta, and BAND, while Fleet Feet is listed as the presenting sponsor.
