5K Celebration
The Girls on the Run Greater Cincinnati 5K is the season-closing event for the council’s programs. The event is scheduled for November 21, 2026 at Smale Riverfront Park and serves as a celebratory conclusion to the season.
The 5K gives program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment. Crossing the finish line is described as a memorable moment that helps instill confidence through completion. Every program participant receives a commemorative medal.
Registration for the 5K opens in September and fees vary by registration window and age category. Local and national partners support the event; Fleet Feet is listed as the presenting sponsor and several other organizations are named as sponsors and in kind contributors.
Volunteers help operate the event and staff roles include set up and tear down, course marshals, water stops, cheer zones, Fun Zone activities such as happy hair and tiaras, a Green Team, and start and finish area support. Volunteers appointed through the council undergo a Girls on the Run background check.
