Purpose and history
The Honor Run was established in 2014. Its mission is to honor those who have served in the U.S. military. Proceeds from the races benefit Honor Flight Tri-State to help local veterans who served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam visit memorials in Washington, DC. Over the past ten years the event has donated about $420,000 to that effort and has helped send local veterans on these trips. The site also lists a total of 10,654 finishers since the event began.
