About the race
Girls on the Run Greater Boston holds a season-closing celebratory 5K on Sunday, November 15, 2026 at Boston Common (corner of Beacon and Charles Streets). The event brings together more than 200 teams from across Greater Boston and focuses on completion and confidence rather than competition.
The course distance is 3.1 miles. Each program participant runs or walks paired with a designated 5K Buddy who must be 16 years or older; teams are asked to register one buddy per participant and additional adults join as community runners. Program participants receive a commemorative medal at the finish line. Registered 5K buddies and volunteers receive a Girls on the Run 5K T-shirt.
Registration categories and pricing listed by the organizer include Pre-Race 5K Buddy ($35), Community Runner ($50), and same-day registration for certain categories ($50). Registration for 5K Buddies and Community Runners opens on October 5, 2026; program participants and coaches are pre-registered through the program.
The event is noncompetitive and intended to be accessible: participants may walk, run, push, or roll the course, and designated accessible parking is available. Volunteers support many event needs, including setup, course and traffic control, registration, water stops, finish line duties, merchandise, spirit activities, and post-event breakdown.
