Girls on the Run Greater Boston Celebratory 5K
Girls on the Run Greater Boston holds a seasonal celebratory 5K that concludes the program and gives participants a tangible sense of accomplishment. The event is scheduled for Sunday, November 15, 2026, at Boston Common (corner of Beacon and Charles Streets). The 5K course is 5K (3.1 miles) and is designed so participants can walk, run, roll, push, or skip at their own pace; designated accessible parking is available.
More than 200 teams from throughout Greater Boston are expected to attend. Program participants and coaches are already registered for the 5K and program participants receive a commemorative medal when they cross the finish line. Registered 5K Buddies and volunteers receive a Girls on the Run 5K T-shirt. Community runners and 5K Buddy registration options and fees are listed for pre-race and day-of registration.
The event includes additional activities such as a Bling Your Bib booth, spirit activities, photo opportunities, and merchandise for sale. Volunteer roles cover event setup, traffic and course control, registration, water stops, finish line support, and post-event breakdown. Community Running Buddy volunteers are vetted through a background check. All 5K registration forms include liability waivers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
